Heavy rainfall expected in Patna

Patna,19th July,2020. Moderate to heavy rains are expected in the capital city of Patna in the next 24 hours. IMD has predicted heavy rains and thunderstorms in North Bihar and sub Himalayan regions. Due to increased rainfall in Nepal and other catchment areas the rivers in north bihar are overflowing and 8 districts of Bihar are already facing flood like situation. The most effected districts are Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Supaul, Kishanganj, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Gopalganj and East Champaran. According to the Disaster Management Department more than 3 lakh people have been effected and if the water level continues to rise more areas in North Bihar will have to cope up with heavy floods. Ganga river has seen a decrease in the water level in Patna but if the feeder rivers continue to rise the danger mark will be crossed within a week.
